Description: The goal of technology is to provide access to auditory information for the development of speech and language. Only by careful testing can we determine if a child has good speech perception. This presentation will discuss how to develop a speech perception test protocol, how to select appropriate tests, the role of audiologists, parents, teachers, speech-language pathologists, and listening and spoken language providers in monitoring speech perception.

Dr. Jane Madell is an internationally renowned pediatric audiologist, speech language pathologist, and LSLS auditory verbal therapist. She has published 7 text books, numerous book chapters, and journal articles. She is a former clinic director and now consults nationally and internationally on management of hearing loss in children. She is recipient of the Marion Downs Award for Excellence in Pediatric Audiology.
