- Design and implement individual tinnitus management plans based on complex case history, evaluation results and consideration factors
- Recognize consideration factors related to workers compensation claims for tinnitus management purposes
Description: Tinnitus affects 50 million individuals in the United States with 2 million seeking medical attention for their symptom. Currently there is no cure for tinnitus, though numerous management strategies exist. No two tinnitus patient’s needs are identical and individualize management plans should be developed on a case-by-case basis. This course will review various tinnitus cases and associated complexities, consideration factors, treatments, and outcomes.

Director of the Tinnitus and Sound Sensitivities Clinic
Tricia Sheehan Scaglione, AuD, F-AAA, CCC-A is the Director of the Tinnitus and Sound Sensitivities Clinic, Co-Director of Clinical Education in Audiology, and Assistant professor for the University of Miami Department of Otolaryngology. Board certified in Audiology, Dr. Scaglione specialized training and education includes auditory and vestibular diagnostics, tinnitus and sound sensitivities, hearing aids, and evoked potentials. She currently serves as a Board member and lead educator for the Tinnitus Practitioners Association and has given presentations at state, national, and international meetings.
Brianna Kuzbyt, AuD, FAAA
Assistant Professor of Audiology in the University of Miami Department of Otolaryngology
Brianna Kuzbyt, AuD, F-AAA, is an assistant professor of audiology in the University of Miami Department of Otolaryngology. Dr. Kuzbyt specializes in auditory and vestibular diagnostic testing, tinnitus, bone-anchored and conventional hearing aids, and in evoked potentials. She is a member of the Tinnitus Practitioners Association and actively seeks out learning opportunities in the areas of tinnitus and sound sensitivites. In the clinic, she is involved in research and serves as a mentor for students. She actively participates in community outreach events, including cochlear implant and acoustic neuroma support groups, and hearing conservation efforts.
