3. Explain the function and benefits of formative assessment for preceptors and students;
4. Identify techniques for assessing the student's current knowledge and skills;
5. Describe ways to help students set realistic goals for outcomes of the clinical experience;
6. Identify the elements of an effective learning objective;
7. Describe how to formulate appropriate learning objectives.

1. What are assessments, which help answer the questions: “Am I teaching this student what I think I'm teaching them?" “Is the student learning what they need to be learning?" "Is my instructional approach working?“
