This course will introduce the latest product enhancements to Audioscan hearing instrument fitting systems, with particular emphasis on the Verifit2. Attendees will learn about the latest binaural fitting and verification capabilities of the system, both on ear and in the test box.
The verification of hearing instrument performance is a crucial component in the overall fitting process that helps ensure beneficial client outcomes. As hearing instrument technology continues to evolve, it becomes even more important for fitters to evaluate the capabilities of the systems they are fitting to confirm that they are functioning appropriately for the listening needs of their clients. This course will introduce some of the latest product advancements associated with Audioscan hearing instrument fittings systems, with particular emphasis on the Audioscan Verifit2. An overview of the latest unique tests and tools that can be used to evaluate the binaural capabilities of today’s hearing instruments will be discussed, including the binaural test box and real-ear features. New product advancements supporting more efficient verification and improved integration of verification into the busy modern dispensing practice will also be reviewed.
Learning Objectives: Upon completion, each participant in the eAudiology Web seminar will be able to:
- Describe the latest product advancements found in Audioscan hearing instrument fitting systems, in particular those associated with the Verifit2.
- Apply more accurate and efficient verification techniques with modern hearing instruments and their associated accessories.
- Demonstrate the need for, and benefits of, individually fitted amplification to patients and their families.
Chris Stokes-Rees
Chris Stokes-Rees is an Applications Specialist for Audioscan. He is a specialist in real ear verification applications support and training and presents regularly on the effective use of probe tube measurement to College/University classes and professional industry groups in the USA and Canada as well as internationally. From 2013 to present he has also held the role of professor of Hearing Aid Verification and Fitting Methods at the Conestoga College Hearing Instrument Specialist program, Kitchener, Ontario.
