The purpose of this course is to define infection control and outline a clear rationale as to why it must be integrated into an audiology or hearing care practice. The presentation will focus on initial preparation for implementation of an infection control plan. Additionally, the specific goals of this presentation are to identify and review the written infection control plan, build upon the concept of what a work-practice control is and its role within an infection control plan, and discuss key points associated with selecting appropriate product for use in the clinic for minimizing the spread of disease.
Learner Outcomes: Upon completion, each participant in the eAudiology Web Seminar will be able to:
1. Implement Infection Control work practice controls into their work setting.
2. Explain the various ways in which to prevent the spread of infectious bacteria in their work setting.
3. Identify the appropriate methods for various, every day scenarios found in the clinic to mitigate the spread of disease.
Dave Kemp is the Marketing Manager at Oaktree Products. He graduated from the University of Kansas in 2012 with a BS in Journalism and sold Business Intelligence to fortune 100 companies prior to joining Oaktree. Dave travels to Audiology conferences, giving talks on Infection Control and Future Applications for Bluetooth Hearing Aid technology.
