Description: Are you wanting to increase efficiency and effectiveness in your precepting? Or do you not precept because you fear it is too time consuming? Giving graduate students appropriate support and feedback can seem burdensome, but it doesn't have to be! This session will review different approaches to precepting focusing on ways to provide meaningful experiences for graduate clinicians in a busy clinic. Methods and implementation will be discussed that can be used in clinic right away!
Learning Objectives:
- Describe and demonstrate at least one precepting strategy that can be implemented into practice.
- Assess their current precepting practice and determine strategies or "hacks" that they can use to streamline their practice.
- Describe differences between precepting, supervision, and mentoring.

Dr. Jennifer Phelan is a clinical faculty member at University of South Dakota. Her professional interests are in clinical education and pediatric audiology. Her commitment to clinical education has lead her to go outside of the field of audiology to find ways to be prepare future colleagues.
