Robert Sweetow, PhD
Professor Emeritus of Otolaryngology

Dr. Robert Sweetow is Professor Emeritus and former Director of Audiology at the University of California, San Francisco. He earned his Ph.D. from Northwestern University, his M.A. from the University of Southern California, and his B.S. from the University of Iowa. Dr. Sweetow has authored 25 textbook chapters and over 130 scientific articles. He is a reviewer for several journals and the author of Counseling for Hearing Aid Fittings. He also served on the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA). Dr. Sweetow is the co-developer of the LACE auditory training program, now known as LACE AI Pro. Renowned for his informative and engaging speaking style, he has lectured at over 300 conferences worldwide. His research interests include amplification, counseling, rehabilitation, neuroscience, and tinnitus. In 2008, he received the Distinguished Achievement Award from the AAA.
